1. Why shipping is ambient and storage is not
Freeze-dried peptide powder tolerates the few days of a normal courier transit at ambient temperature without meaningful loss. That is why research material travels dry rather than on ice. The moment it arrives, the situation changes: long-term stability depends on temperature, moisture and light.
2. Lyophilised material
- Store sealed vials in a freezer, protected from light
- Keep the desiccant and the original sealed container where supplied
- Let a vial warm to room temperature before opening, so moisture does not condense inside
- Avoid a frost-free freezer compartment that cycles temperature
3. After reconstitution
Reconstituted material is substantially less stable than dry powder. Two practices make the biggest difference: aliquot immediately into single-use volumes, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Each thaw of a shared stock costs you consistency across the experiments that follow.
Add solvent slowly against the vial wall rather than directly onto the powder, and swirl instead of shaking — vigorous agitation causes foaming and surface denaturation.
4. Record keeping
Note the batch number, receipt date, reconstitution date and solvent for every vial. When a result looks unusual, batch traceability is the only way to distinguish a material problem from an experimental one. Our reports are published per batch on the lab results page, so the number on your label maps to a real analysis.
5. Supplies
Handling quality also depends on consumables: alcohol prep pads for the septum, and appropriately sized sterile syringes or needles for withdrawal. These are listed alongside the research material in the shop, and are included with vial orders where applicable.
Frequently asked questions
Why is shipping not refrigerated?
Because lyophilised powder is stable across normal transit times.
How should I store it on arrival?
Frozen, sealed, dark and dry, warmed to room temperature before opening.
Do freeze-thaw cycles matter?
Yes — aliquot reconstituted material so each portion is thawed only once.
